Hamachi is a UDP-based virtual private networking system. Its peers utilize the help of a 3rd node called mediation server to locate each other and to boot strap the connection between themselves. The connection itself is direct and once it’s established no traffic flows through our servers.
Hamachi is not just truly peer-to-peer, it is verifiably secure peer-to-peer.
With Hamachi you can organize two or more computers with an Internet connection into their own virtual network for direct secure communication.
Hamachi is fast, secure and simple. It is also free. Full details here.

Gmail Space–Upload Files liked FTP Client for Firefox Extension
Posted by webshacker under browers1 Comment

This extension allows you to use your Gmail Space (2 GB) for file storage. It acts as a remote machine. You can transfer files between your hard drive and gmail. This is similar to “Gmail Drive” on windows platform. Your gmail account looks like a FTP host and you can upload and download your files. After you install, you get an option called “GSpace” in your “tools” menu clicking on which opens the window for transfer of files/folders.
* Files > 10 MB can be uploaded
* Fixed the problem of “googlemail.com” domain. Now, googlemail.com users can also upload and download files.
* Fixed the problem of “archiving”. So, it picks the emails/files that are archived also.
* Fixed the problem with “NoScript” extension.
* Now, harmful extensions like “.exe, .dll, .zip” can also be uploaded.
* Uploading very big files > 100 MB is not recommended.
* Make sure that you have enough space in your directory while uploading large files (this extension creates a copy of the large file in the directory)
* Did not test this version in Linux and Mac. Please email me if anyone has any problems.
* Read the “legal issues” at the bottom.

Enomaly AJAX Programming and Development Support
Posted by webshacker under web2.0, webs-programmingLeave a Comment
AJAX or Asynchronous JavaScript and
XML is a term describing a web development technique for creating
interactive web applications using a combination of:
- HTML (or XHTML) and CSS for presenting information
- The Document Object Model manipulated through JavaScript to dynamically display and interact with the information presented
- The
XMLHttpRequest object to interchange and manipulate data asynchronously
with the web server (commonly using XML and XSLT, although AJAX
applications can use other technologies, including preformatted HTML,
plain text, JSON and JSON-RPC as alternatives to XML/XSLT). - Like
DHTML, LAMP, or SPA, AJAX is not a technology in itself, but a term
that refers to the use of a group of technologies together. In fact,
derivative/composite technologies based substantially upon AJAX, such
as AFLAX are already appearing.

Ajax: A New Approach to Web Applications
Posted by webshacker under web2.0, webs-programmingLeave a Comment
Ajax isn’t a technology. It’s really several
technologies, each flourishing in its own right, coming together in
powerful new ways. Ajax incorporates:
- standards-based presentation using XHTML and CSS;
- dynamic display and interaction using the Document Object Model;
- data interchange and manipulation using XML and XSLT;
- asynchronous data retrieval using XMLHttpRequest;
- and JavaScript binding everything together.

- Exit Thunderbird
- Download my patched copy of newsblog.jar
- Find
the original newsblog.jar file for your installation, rename it (e.g.
‘newsblog.jar.orig’), and put the new version in its place. Under a
standard Windows installation, it should be under “Program
Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\chrome”. Under Linux/FreeBSD, try something
like “/usr/share/mozilla-thunderbird/chrome” - Restart Thunderbird, and go to the “Manage Subscriptions” option of your News & Blogs folder to see your shiny new OPML buttons!
